Trust & transparency

How listings are reviewed

Herewise is designed to help people find mental health and emotional wellbeing support they can explore further.

Every organisation submitted to Herewise is reviewed before it is approved.

What we look for

When reviewing a listing, we look at information such as:

  • whether the organisation or service appears to be genuine
  • the type of support it provides
  • who the service is intended for
  • the geographical area it covers
  • how people can access the service
  • contact details and website information
  • whether the description accurately represents the organisation
  • whether the service is relevant to mental health, emotional wellbeing or related support

We may use publicly available information provided by the organisation, its official website and other appropriate sources when carrying out these checks.

What being listed means

Being listed on Herewise means that we consider the organisation relevant to the purpose of the directory based on the information available to us.

It does not mean that Herewise:

  • clinically accredits the organisation
  • guarantees the quality of its services
  • recommends a particular treatment
  • guarantees that every piece of information supplied by the organisation will remain accurate
  • has independently inspected the organisation

Users should decide whether a service is appropriate for their individual circumstances.

Organisations can manage their information

Where available, organisations can provide or update information about their services.

Updates may be reviewed before being published.

We may also contact organisations where information appears incomplete, unclear or outdated.

Keeping listings current

Support services change.

Organisations may change their eligibility criteria, opening hours, contact details, locations or the services they provide.

Herewise therefore reviews listings periodically and may update, temporarily hide or remove information where necessary.

Each listing displays the date it was last checked, where recorded.

Reporting a problem

Anyone can tell us if a listing appears to be:

  • inaccurate
  • outdated
  • misleading
  • no longer operating
  • inappropriate for Herewise
  • potentially unsafe

Reports can be sent to hello@herewise.org or submitted using Report an issue.

We will review concerns and take appropriate action.

Removal from Herewise

A listing may be removed where:

  • the organisation has closed
  • its information can no longer be reasonably verified
  • it no longer fits the purpose of Herewise
  • there are serious concerns about the accuracy or suitability of the listing
  • the organisation asks to be removed
  • continued inclusion could create a risk to users

Independence

Organisations do not receive preferential clinical placement simply because they have a relationship with Herewise.

Where Herewise introduces sponsorship, partnerships or other commercial relationships, these will be clearly identified.

Our aim is to help people find relevant support, not to determine which service they must use.
